1. Different types:
Although both of these adhesives are adhesive, there is a significant difference. Adhesive does not necessarily mean they are the same. Taking hot melt adhesive as an example, it is a solid and soluble polymer that does not require any solvents and does not contain water. As a heated adhesive, it must be heated to a certain temperature before it can transform into a liquid state and become 100% solid at room temperature; On the other hand, glass adhesive is composed of acidic silicone adhesive, neutral silicone adhesive, etc. It belongs to the category of structural adhesives and can be directly bonded without heating.
2. Usage differences:
There is also a significant difference in the use of these two adhesives. Hot melt adhesive rods and particles are mainly used for bonding in various industries such as packaging, cardboard boxes, automotive interiors, handicrafts, and pearl cotton, which is only a small part of their involvement.
Glass glue is generally used for home decoration, bonding and filling seams. For example, the joints between the sink and countertop, the joints between the sink and countertop, the joints between the floor tiles and the floor, and so on.
3. Adhesive strength:
In terms of adhesive strength, hot melt adhesive is definitely stronger than glass adhesive because it needs to be heated to melt, and once cooled and solidified, it is difficult to separate. Therefore, its application range is more extensive than glass adhesive.
